Partner API Programme

Obotan's Infrastructure, Available to Your Business

Obotan Wallet, Credit, Notes, Property, Shop and Diaspora are Obotan's own customer-facing products — built on top of shared infrastructure for identity verification, asset verification, digital credit instruments, escrow coordination and audit trails. The Partner API Programme makes that same underlying infrastructure available to other businesses to build on, in the same way Hubtel or a payment gateway exposes its rails as an API product rather than only its own consumer app.

Who This Is For

Banks & Financial Institutions
Plug into identity verification, credit-instrument issuance or settlement coordination without building it in-house.
Insurance Companies
Access verified customer and asset records to support underwriting, credit-linked insurance and claims workflows.
Merchants & Marketplaces
Offer Obotan-backed instalment or e-cheque payment options at checkout.
Fintechs & Technology Partners
Build new products on top of Obotan's verification, escrow and digital-instrument infrastructure rather than duplicating it.

What's Available

  • Identity and KYC verification
  • Digital credit instrument issuance and verification (e-Cheques, Digital Drafts, Guarantees)
  • Wallet balance, transaction and settlement data (with customer consent)
  • Certificate and document verification
  • Escrow and settlement coordination workflows

How It Works

  1. Submit an expression of interest describing your business and intended use case.
  2. Obotan conducts due diligence and confirms the applicable commercial and compliance terms.
  3. Sandbox access is provisioned for integration and testing.
  4. Following review, production access is granted under a signed API agreement.
